Contracts Manager – Construction (Essex-Based Projects) £55,000 Package | Residential & Commercial Builds | Strategic Delivery Role A growing construction firm in central Essex is seeking a driven Contracts Manager to lead projects from tender through to handover. This is a strategic, client-facing role suited to someone with a carpentry background and a strong grasp of both residential and commercial construction. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, managing labour, subcontractors, and materials while ensuring compliance across Health & Safety and Environmental standards. The role demands a proactive communicator who can build trust with clients, suppliers, and site teams alike. Key Responsibilities: Oversee project programming, variations, and delivery timelines Liaise with clients throughout the build lifecycle Compile RAMS and ensure legislative compliance Review subcontractor quotes, invoices, and estimates Lead site teams and subcontractors with clarity and confidence Adjust programmes to meet deadlines and budgets Report regularly to Directors and contribute to strategic planningRequirements: Carpentry background (essential) SMSTS & CSCS certified Experience managing both commercial and residential projects Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proven ability to build trusted relationships from day one Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislationThis is a brilliant opportunity to join an ambitious company with a strong pipeline of work.
