The Team
Global Corporate Banking focuses on relationship management of global, large-cap corporate and financial institution clients, managing day-to-day relationships and origination of new business with responsibility for delivering financing, treasury and risk management advice and execution globally.
Programme Overview
Our Summer Analyst programme offers a broad and exciting experience of what it is like to work as a full-time Corporate Banking analyst. During the summer you will be pooled across the three London Corporate Banking teams (UK & Ireland Corporate Coverage, Financial Institutions Coverage and Global Subsidiary Coverage), working across a diverse range of industries and products.
Training and Development
Your training and development is a priority with extensive formal training at the start of the programme, plus on-the-job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.
Responsibilities
* Assist Global Corporate Banking professionals in relationship management, origination, and execution across product areas including Loan & Bond financing, FX and Interest Rate Derivatives, and Cash Management
* Develop an understanding of clients, their industries, and how the bank supports growth and day-to-day banking requirements
* Provide market-informed judgments on financing strategies to address client needs
* Help prepare detailed financial models and analytical presentations for advice across the capital structure
* Become proficient at credit analysis and metrics used to price and structure debt instruments
* Familiarise with legal and documentation aspects of debt instruments
* Work on live transactions and interact with clients to build network and experience
* Identify ideas and cross-selling opportunities for new and existing clients
* Assist in developing client-specific analyses (e.g., capital structure, acquisition finance)
* Collaborate with Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Global Transaction Services on client coverage and origination
Eligibility
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with completion between September 2026 and July 2027; evidence of completion may be requested before extending an offer
* Minimum 112 UCAS points (or equivalent) and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
* Open to diverse degree disciplines, including arts and humanities as well as economics and mathematics
* Fluency in English is essential
Candidates who perform well during the internship may be offered full-time employment to commence in July 2027; some lines of business may offer January or April start dates. Deferrals are not available.
