About the Role
We are looking for reliable, hands‑on Skilled Operatives to join our busy precast concrete manufacturing facility in Skelmersdale. You’ll be working as part of a production team creating high‑quality precast concrete units for major construction and infrastructure projects.
This is a physical, fast‑paced role suited to someone who is practical, safety‑conscious, and confident working with tools, machinery, and technical instructions.
Key Responsibilities of a Skilled Operative
Assisting in the production of precast concrete units to required specificationsReading and working from basic measurements (must be able to read a tape measure accurately)Preparing moulds, shutters, and reinforcement cagesPouring, levelling, compacting, and finishing concreteCarrying out quality checks to ensure products meet factory standardsUsing hand tools, power tools, and factory equipment safelySupporting loading/unloading of materials and finished unitsKeeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety proceduresWorking closely with supervisors and production teams to meet daily targetsReporting defects, issues, or hazards promptly
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings - HIGHLY DESIRABLE MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE - ITS A MUST HAVE. Basic joinery or shuttering experience - HIGHTLY DESIRABLEForklift licence or experience operating factory machinery - HIGHLY DESIRABLE.Previous experience in precast, concrete production, or construction manufacturing - Desirable What We’re Looking ForPhysically fit and comfortable with manual labourGood attention to detail and pride in producing quality workAble to follow instructions and work safely at all timesTeam player with a positive attitude
