Technician - Rolling Stock
Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: North London
Pay Rate:
Umbrella - £24.56 per hour for the first 4 weeks (15% shift), increasing to £27.77 per hour after 4 weeks (30% shift), then finally increasing to £29.27 (30% shift) per hour after 12 weeks in line with AWR.
PAYE - £19.72 per hour for the first 4 weeks (15% shift), increasing to £22.30 after 4 weeks (30% shift).
Shift pattern: Days initially (4 weeks) then a combination of Days and Lates, Nights TBC.
Description:
* Undertake overhaul, modifications, and repair of wheelsets/bogies components with minimal supervision, following the requisite processes and procedures.
* Assist team members with bogie and wheelset overhauls to develop technical skills.
* Identify, order, and collect spares and materials from stores. Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required.
* This position involves work on the Thames Link Project.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Perform mechanical repairs as part of the Engineering team.
* Support the completion of repairs, modifications, and overhauls within a well-equipped rolling stock depot.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Experience in mechanical/electrical engineering or process environments.
* Basic fault-finding experience.
* Ability to accurately complete records of actions and operations following procedures.
* Care for tools, equipment, and PPE.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, including biohazards, manual handling, and COSHH.
* Proficiency in computer use.
* Ability to interpret technical publications and produce detailed technical reports.
