Overview
We are seeking a Band 7 Diabetic Nurse Specialist to support our team at Whipps Cross University Hospital. This role involves providing advice, support, and guidance to Trust staff in the management of inpatients with diabetes. You will also participate in strategic planning and delivery of diabetes services, develop educational programmes, and contribute to antenatal and adolescent clinics.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice, support and guidance to Trust staff in the management of patients with diabetes, alone and in collaboration with the Nurse Consultant to ensure that professional and clinical standards are maintained.
* Participate in the strategic planning and delivery of a diabetes service across the trust, working in partnership with other specialist nurses and the multidisciplinary team.
* Devise, initiate and further develop educational programmes for all grades of staff in all areas of diabetes management.
Qualifications and essential requirements
* Registered General Nurse with NMC registration
* 3 years of acute adult clinical experience
* Demonstrable interest in diabetes care
* Experience in antenatal care is desirable
