Senior Mental Health Clinician

The team work a shift pattern covering every day of the year, operating from 10:30 until 23:00 daily. Based in North Yorkshire Police control room, we function as mental health liaison with the police, providing information and advice to inform police decision making, we also carry out telephone triages with people presenting to the police in mental health crises and liaise with other mental health teams.
18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework is essential.
Passing police vetting is essential for this role. The police vetting application will be started for successful applicants, although you must have been a UK resident for at least two years before police vetting can be applied for

Maintain immediate and accurate clinical records on police and NHS computer systems.

Person Specification
Registration, knowledge and skills
* Registered mental health nurse, occupational therapist or social worker
* Extensive knowledge and experience of working with people with complex mental health presentations
* Proven ability to work in MDT groups and partner agencies
* Experience of working with people in acute distress/ mental health crisis
* Experience of working to support healthcare students
Experience
* Proven ability to work as part of a clinical team
knowledge and skills
* Ability to work as a positive role model to partner organisations for mental health
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with an approved professional body
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* For registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
* 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* Recognised sign-off mentor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
* Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
