Job Description:
As a Team Leader of Quality Assurance, you will play a key role in driving the success of the QA Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Safety – Ensure all the foundations are in place to provide an accident free workplace. Including:
• Risk Assessments updated as per their schedules
• Safety Audit – completion of own and ensuring team executes them effectively.
• 6S – ensure the work is clear and well organised.
• Accident investigation is carried out thoroughly and in due time.
• PPE adherence is complied with by team members and visitors/contractors
Quality – Reduce the number quality complaints, specifically repeat issues:
• Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated (including external calibration)
• Ensure the QA team fulfil the audit plan for both OBA’s and process audits
• Ensure any NPI activity is actively managed and processed through the lab with feedback
• Drive any non-conformances via the regular quality forum meetings
• Drive CIP projects within the team to reduce CC’s and internal failures
People – Manages the growth and success of your team:
• Define the future state of skills and attributes needed for a competent QA
• Carry out regular appraisals and ensure each technician has a development plan
• Ensure attendance is managed appropriately
• Develop a strong second-in-command by providing mentorship, training, and opportunities for growth. Ensure they are well-prepared to support and lead when needed.
• Maintain high standards by addressing poor performance promptly. Provide constructive feedback and support to help improve,
Qualifications and experience:
We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Whilst qualifications give you the knowledge to be successful in this role, experience and soft skills will play a huge part in this role. To be successful in this role, you should have:
Essential
• Leadership experience in a Quality environment
• Familiarity with measurement techniques and gauge R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies.
• Understanding of Capability Process (CP) and Capability Index (CPK) studies.
• Knowledge of status process audits, Outgoing Quality Audits (OBA), and End-of-Line (EOL) inspections.
• Certified internal auditor.
• Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including critical dimensions and weld identification.
• Effective time and workload management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experienced in presenting ideas and results to various stakeholders, including staff and senior management.
• Capable of understanding and enforcing company procedures and policies.
Desirable
• Six sigma green belt
• CMI Level 3 – management
• Knowledge of a structured New Product Introduction (NPI) launch process.
• 2 years in leadership role in manufacturing environment

This role will also offer you a brilliant rewards package which includes:
• A salary of £42,000 – £46,000 depending on experience

This is a full-time position, based on working Monday – to Friday, 39 hours a week.
