Clerical Officer – NHS Scotland

Location: Pathology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee
Position: Clerical Officer, Band 3 (Fixed term/Secondment until 30 September 2026)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (full‑time). From 01 April 2026, the full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours with no change in pay.
The successful applicant will be required to produce pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes, along with other clerical duties. There is a requirement to work in the archive stores filing paraffin blocks and stained glass slides.
Key requirements:
* Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Word packages.
* Good interpersonal and organisational skills, a professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
* NVQ Level 3 / RSA 3 in office/clerical practice or equivalent level of experience within an office environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a busy, progressive Cellular Pathology Laboratory Office within a large teaching hospital.
