Employment Type: Full-time, 1-year contract with chances of becoming permanent
Are you a compassionate and adaptable professional dedicated to the belief that every learner deserves a pathway to independence? We are seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our inclusive education community across two distinct departments. Whether you are experienced in supporting high-needs learners or providing general classroom assistance, we have a place for your expertise.
These roles are about more than classroom assistance; they are about empowering students to master the skills they need for life. You will be a key point of support, blending patience with strategy to ensure our learners are ready for the world beyond the college gates.
Benefits
* Professional Growth: Join an award-winning team dedicated to transforming lives across a far-reaching community. Annual leave allowance of 25 days (rising to 26 days after 2 years' service) + Bank or Public Holidays, as well as Christmas Eve.
* Massive Flexibility: We are highly flexible regarding your working hours and days - we want to build a timetable that works for you.
* Path to Permanency: While starting as a fixed-term contract, there is a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role.
* Specialist Support: Access a wider network of SEND practitioners and holistic support teams within a collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
* Student Advocacy: Act as a key point of contact for learners, navigating complex profiles with patience to ensure "every small win" is a step toward success.
* Curriculum Support: Work alongside teaching staff to ensure each learner's specific package of support is integrated into their daily educational experience.
* Adaptive Communication: Simplify complex concepts and engage learners who may face significant barriers to education.
* Inclusive Practice: Maintain a safe, nurturing environment where differences are respected and valued.
Requirements
* Experience: Proven track record (or a profound desire) to support students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, or high-needs learning disabilities.
* Commitment to Excellence: Resilient individuals with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn.
Even if you don't meet every single criteria listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
