Overview
Cotwall End Primary School is a thriving, oversubscribed Community Primary School in the heart of Sedgley. We have 420 pupils and a pre-school unit with 64 places. The school is energetic and welcoming, with staff and pupils actively engaging in learning.
Position
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an After School Club Assistant to join our busy after-school team, working 2.45pm to 5pm every day. The role includes supervising children after school, providing a snack, and engaging them in constructive activities until collection by parents or carers.
Responsibilities
* To assist in the planning of activities and experiences
* To provide and supervise safe play suitable for the various ages of the children
* To interact well with children, ensuring all children are included, engaged and supported
* Liaise with the manager and school staff as required
* To support with the setting up of equipment and tidying away of toys/equipment, and prepare snacks and drinks for children
* To ensure commitment to the protection and safeguarding of the children, and ensure any concerns get reported through the proper channels
* To communicate effectively with parents and carers, and the rest of the team
* Be proactive and use initiative
* To maintain confidentiality
* Undertake the personal care of children as required
* Willingness to complete necessary training and qualifications, such as First Aid and Food Hygiene
What to expect and requirements
Closing Date: Monday 15 September. Interview date: TBC, expected during the week commencing 15 September due to the need for a tight turnaround.
