We seek an experienced Language Content Specialist for the Amazon Business Marketing team. As a native French speaker, you will ensure high-quality localization and transcreation of marketing content, maintaining cultural authenticity and market-appropriate terminology. Your role involves evaluating and adapting source content for target markets, considering product availability, cultural sensitivities, and local business practices. You will manage terminology (style guides, term bases, translation memory) for the French market, exercising independent judgment within standard procedures to ensure content quality and appropriateness. Success requires deep cultural knowledge, excellent linguistic skills, and a thorough understanding of marketing communications.
Please note that this is a London-based role requiring presence in the office 5 days a week.
Key job responsibilities
1. Apply native-level expertise in French to localize and transcreate marketing content, ensuring quality and excellence using QA tools and metrics.
2. Review and validate localized content for linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and style guideline adherence, correcting grammatical or contextual errors.
3. Collaborate with the Localization Project Manager to maintain project timelines and deliver high-quality outputs across marketplaces.
4. Develop and maintain terminology databases and style guides for French markets to ensure language asset standardization.
5. Adapt source content for regional markets, considering product availability, cultural sensitivities, and business practices.
6. Engage with in-country teams to understand and resolve localization issues.
7. Manage routine escalations as needed.
Minimum qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in foreign languages, translation studies, linguistics, or equivalent experience (1-2 years) in localization or subtitling for French.
* Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading).
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred qualifications
* Ability to deliver results and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
* Critical thinking skills and ability to provide insights on creative content.
* Technical experience with localization and terminology platforms such as GlobalLink, Trados, MemoQ.
