Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (EBD, 8–17 years)
Location: Dagenham, Essex
Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum (part time salary pro rata) Dependent on experience
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week) and part time roles available, permanent role

Role overview and responsibilities:
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping young people navigate daily life and feel at home. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting young people to continue hobbies, develop friendships, explore new activities, and build essential life skills.
* Providing consistent day-to-day care and creating a safe, homely, therapeutic environment.
* Helping with daily routines such as preparing for school, maintaining healthy routines, and promoting balanced meals.
* Ensuring the home is a calm, welcoming space where young people can relax and feel secure.
* Encouraging young people to reach their potential and try new experiences.
* Supporting development through engaging activities, positive role modelling, and consistent emotional support.
* Building strong, trusting relationships while ensuring safeguarding needs are always met.
* Working closely with other professionals and contributing to care plans.

Required experience and skills:
* Ability to be a great role model to our looked after children.
* Ability to build trusting relationships.
* A genuine care and compassion to work with looked after children.
* Flexibility to be able to work shifts that include evenings and weekends and sleep ins.
* Willingness to complete a Level 3 qualification in Children’s and Young People Workforce
* Emotional resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs.
