Job Summary
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a highly motivated Consultant to join an existing dedicated team within the Rotherham Sexual Health Service. This part‑time fixed term post (12 months) is located at Rotherham Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Attend one sexual health clinic and one HIV clinic per week
* Act as named clinical supervisor for one part‑time GP trainee
* Provide HIV care, sexually transmitted infection care and contraception services
* Develop and lead an area of management such as education or linking with companion services
* Co‑operate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver clinically effective, safe and high quality Genitourinary Medicine services
* Participate in departmental activities including audit, service development, review and evaluation to improve practice
* No on‑call commitment at the Trust
Qualifications
Essential
* Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC
* MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
* MRCP specialist qualification or equivalent
* Eligible to be included on the Specialist register – CCT expected within 6 months of interview date, or evidence of CESR application within 6 months of obtaining Specialist Registration
* Extensive experience in Genitourinary Medicine, including management of HIV patients
* Evidence of audit and implementation of change following audit
* Willingness to supervise medical students and GP trainees during placement
Desirable
* Diploma in GU Medicine or HIV Medicine
* DFSRH, LoC IUC or LoC SDI
* Clinical experience in family planning or reproductive health
* Relevant peer‑reviewed research publications
* Qualification or experience in medical teaching and clinical supervision of trainee doctors

* Previous NHS experience in sexual health
* Effective team‑working and time‑management skills
* Proven knowledge of NHS systems and processes

Commitment & Benefits
The role offers a fixed‑term consultant salary of £109,725 to £145,478 per year under the Hospital medical and dental staff pay scheme, with flexible part‑time working. The Trust is a combined acute and community NHS Foundation Trust that values ambition, caring and teamwork.
