Finance Officer Location: North Lanarkshire Salary: Hourly rate/ Day rate Job Type: Interim 4 month Contract with potential transfer to permanent contract Your new company Our client is a values-led social care organisation dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes and communities. Your new role You will assist in connecting day-to-day financial activity with the wider goals of the organisation. You will work closely with service managers and senior leaders to provide financial insight, support decision-making, and ensure that resources are used effectively to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support a small Business Support Team, ensuring effective day-to-day financial operations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in collaboration with the Workforce Deployment Team and Payroll Co-ordinator. Function as a strategic partner to operational teams, offering financial insight and guidance. Coordinate inputs for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across services. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and performance commentary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for internal review. Support funding applications, tenders, and service development proposals with robust financial modelling. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and external reporting requirements. Build financial awareness and capability across non-finance teams. Contribute to continuous improvement in financial systems and processes. Essential Criteria: Part qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or qualified by experience or holding an equivalent qualification. Experience in processing payroll and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Experience in leading or managing a small team. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships. Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools Desirable: Experience in the social care, health, or third sector. Understanding of social care funding and commissioning frameworks.
