Overview
In the event that we are unable to appoint a candidate for the permanent role of Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon with an interest in Oncoplastic (ref: 279-PPCONONCSUR-591), this post will be offered as a fixed-term appointment for 6 months initially with a view to extend for a further 6 months. The service wishes to appoint 8PA 1-year Fixed Term Consultant Breast Surgeon post with an interest in oncoplastic to support the Integrated Breast team in delivering an excellent service in symptomatic and screening Breast Disease. The service is seeing an increasing population along with increased numbers of newly diagnosed patients. It will provide an opportunity to enhance and develop our local services. It is anticipated that applicants will be proficient in reconstructive surgery/oncoplastic techniques and able to immediately complement the existing service delivery, working with colleagues at Preston Park Breast Centre, Brighton. The candidates will be part of a growing group of oncoplastic surgeons at UHS Sussex who aspire to provide patients with comprehensive surgical options, whilst working closely with our oncologists and radiologists. The service continues to maintain and build relations with our Plastic Surgical Colleagues at Queen Victoria Hospital, who the service has close links with.
