Location: Bristol Onsite with some travel to other sites in Southwest

Rate: £500 per day (Outside IR35)
Duration: 12 months
Clearance Required: Active DV Clearance (Developed Vetting)
Nationality Requirement: Sole UK/British Nationals only
We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared Systems Engineer with a strong background in Satellite Communications (SatCom) to join our Defence clients high-profile programme. This is a critical role supporting the UK Ministry of Defence, requiring a hands-on engineer who can operate within secure environments and contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge communications systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, integrate, and support SatCom systems for Defence programmes.
Provide technical expertise across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
Support system requirements analysis, architecture design, and verification/validation.
Work closely with MOD stakeholders and industry partners to ensure capability delivery.
Produce and review technical documentation in line with Defence standards.
Support secure system deployments and provide in-depth troubleshooting.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven background in Satellite Communications (SatCom)/ MILSatCom.
Demonstrated MOD/Defence sector experience.
Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles (requirements, design, integration, test).
Ability to work effectively in classified environments with strict security protocols.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of secure communication systems and cryptographic solutions.
Familiarity with Defence standards such as JSPs, DEF-STANs, or equivalent.
Experience in RF engineering, networking, or cyber security.
Due to the nature and urgency of the role, candidates are required to hold active DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance and be a Sole UK/British national. Please familiarise yourself with security vetting process before applying.
