About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students, particularly those with additional learning needs. You’ll help create a positive and inclusive learning environment, offering both academic and emotional support to ensure every student can reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum and build confidence in their abilities. Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Support classroom activities, helping to maintain a focused and inclusive learning environment. Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among students. Monitor and record student progress, reporting observations to teachers and SENCOs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Requirements of a Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with additional needs is desirable. A genuine passion for supporting students in their educational journey. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
