We are searching for the best talent for a Buyer role to be in Leeds, UK.
This role is an active member of the UK sites Plan team, with responsibility for executing day-to-day procurement activities for MedTech orthopaedic products. This individual will implement sourcing practices by identifying suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality materials. They will monitor supplier performance, track procurement metrics, and ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards. Additionally, they will provide support for other planning and operational activities across the site or department as required to ensure seamless procurement and supply chain operations.
As a Buyer, you will:
* Be responsible for the effective coordination of purchasing and production scheduling activities to ensure timely and efficient product delivery.
* Manage raw material and component supply to support manufacturing operations, monitoring key performance metrics such as schedule attainment and lead times.
* Develop production plans in collaboration with value stream partners to ensure timely completion of manufacturing schedules.
* Analyze product demand, consumption patterns, production specifications, and capacity data to optimize supply chain performance. Works with Operations, Engineering and Quality partners to resolve and mitigate potential supply challenges.
* Participate as a key member of New Product Launch teams, supporting smooth introduction and ramp-up of new products.
* Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders including suppliers, global supply chain, and internal departments.
* Manage raw material inventory levels in line with entitlement models, driving continuous improvement opportunities.
* Supplier performance management: measurement, identification of performance issues and working together to resolve and prevent reoccurrence.
* Be rresponsible for effectively communicating business issues and opportunities to senior management, ensuring clarity and timely escalation.
* Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards and guidelines (EHS, Quality and Financial compliance)
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
* Minimum of four years of relevant experience, ideally within a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
* Proven experience working within multi-regional, multi-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
* Hands-on experience with data platforms (e.g., SQL), data analytics (e.g., Python), and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
* Certifications such as PMP, FPX SME, Lean/6 Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* APICS certifications (CPIM, CFPIM, or CIRM) are preferred.
