Apprentice Teacher - Maths role at Leeds City College based at Quarry Hill Campus in the School of Social Sciences. The team delivers Entry Functional Skills & GCSE Maths to 16-18 and Adult learners enrolled on Study Programmes or a Full-time course in Education & Early Years, Public Services or Health Science and Social Care.
About The Role
Leeds City College are recruiting for an Apprentice Maths Teacher to join our School of Social Sciences. As an Apprentice Teacher you will gain on-the-job experience while working towards completing your Teaching apprenticeship. On completion you will gain a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds. You will also receive support from our Teaching, Learning and Assessment team. This apprenticeship is fixed-term for the length of the apprenticeship — 24 months.
What You Will Do
* Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources.
* Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
* Create effective assessment activities and provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve.
* Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
* Join a friendly, supportive, hard-working team who are passionate about developing learners’ self-esteem, abilities and progress.
About You
* Good general education including Maths and English Level 2 or above (or GCSE Grade 4 or above).
* Level 3 qualification, such as a Level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship, A-Levels, BTEC or NVQ.
* Experience of working with and supporting young people in an educational setting.
* Enthusiasm and resilience are important.
