About the Job
As a Finance and Performance Manager, you will significantly contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of financial and management accounting function within the Lampton Group and related companies, and to assist the Group Head of Finance & Performance in the continued development of the group through the provision of effective financial accounting processes and procedures and to assume responsibility for the delivery and communication of financial performance and commercial information to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
To supervise and line manage a team of finance staff to ensure sound systems and procedures are in operation and are regularly reviewed and updated.
To prepare financial projections, budgets, cashflows, management and financial accounts and other ad hoc projects.
Monitoring and administrating internal polices and controls
assist in the development of the finance function in accordance with the Group’s policies and procedures and assume responsibility for the management of various financial functions. Oversee timely and accurate period close results, including preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts, associated reports to stakeholders and thorough review of all balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare annual revenue and capital budget models, analysis and reports for Senior Management Team and Budget holders
Monitor financial progress against targets and provide timely updates to stakeholders through regular forecasting, and monthly finance reviews
Develop and monitor internal cost centre accounting, and prepare analysis of variances between budgets and actual results
Assist in ensuring that all internal control measures are implemented and communicated to all appropriate staff. Assist in the risk management process within the department and in the promotion of risk management throughout the group
Maintain a Fixed Asset Register
Contribute toward group efficiency projects/initiatives
Develop and supervise the implementation of internal financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
Support intercompany reconciliation and reporting within group and wider company
Support preparation and communication of cashflow projections
Support collation and submission of VAT returns
Assist in preparing and submitting all internal and external monitoring returns to the relevant body or agencies
Assist with internal & external financial audits where appropriate
Experience and Qualifications required
Fully qualified with a recognised accounting body (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
Experience in similar management role(s) involving line management of staff
Experience of systems change/implementation
Be an articulate, team player with the ability to communicate confidently with junior and senior finance and operational personnel alike

Strong IT skills, Excel pivot tables essential, a can do attitude to learning new systems
An understanding of the importance of financial policies and governance
Understanding of local authorities, construction industry, LATCO’s, Teckal, Multiple VAT supplies and partial exemption, CIS Returns is desirable
Knowledge of Agresso / BWO is desirable
