Job Description

Our Finance Teams: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.

Day to day you will:

1. A fantastic opportunity to work across a broad range of P&L areas in Times Media, most notably advertising, circulation and marketing.

2. Business Partnering - Provide the Times Media advertising and marketing teams with financial and commercial support to continuously improve financial decision making

3. Planning & Forecasting - liaise with the marketing, circulation and advertising teams on the monthly and quarterly planning, forecasting and review processes. Challenge planning assumptions, ensure accuracy and identify risks and opportunities.

4. Analysis - Undertake investment appraisal/business cases for new campaigns and incentives, including post investment reviews. Work closely with the advertising and marketing teams to track and report on revenue and spend trends.

5. Reporting - Weekly and Monthly reporting of relevant revenues, costs and KPIs. Whilst this role does not involve month end processes, you will be working closely with the team responsible in Peterborough to ensure costs and revenue are recorded accurately. Maintain and enhance relevant KPI reporting.

What we’re looking for from you:

6. Fully Qualified Accountant

7. Previous business partnering experience desirable

8. Proactive, problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude to work with multiple stakeholders of varying finance knowledge

9. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships

10. Influence and challenge as appropriate

11. Media / digital marketing experience helpful, not essential

12. Strong excel skills (experience with TM1 beneficial but not essential)
