Job Introduction
Handelsbanken Wealth Management provides wealth management services to customers of the Group on a nationwide basis. Our wealth management service offers clients high quality investment management across a range of global-multi asset class strategies combined with detailed advice on financial planning, tax planning and structuring, retirement planning, inheritance planning and philanthropy. By doing this, we aim to provide for their core "wealth management" requirements under one roof and therefore, in most cases, act as their overall trusted adviser.
The role of our local Client Directors is primarily to develop wealth management relationships with Handelsbanken customers, by working with the branches in the geographic areas they cover. Typically the focus of the clients they deal with will be financial planning, retirement planning and inheritance.
By contrast, the Private Office (PO) team is focussed on; addressing the needs of our wealthiest and most complex UK clients regardless of geography. Typically these clients will have somewhat different priorities encompassing tax structuring, inheritance planning and asset protection and philanthropy as well as often more complex investment-management requirements. They work with the local Client Directors where opportunities arise in their areas. Private Office advisers do not have specific branch attachments or responsibilities. They also aim to win business through other channels in addition to opportunities arising through the Handelsbanken network.
We now have a role as a Private Office Client Director to cover the area between Bristol and Oxford.
Main Responsibilities
To develop effective relationships with the Handelsbanken Client Directors so as to work with them in winning and "scoping" new business where high value and complex opportunities arise from their branches;
To attract and develop new client relationships with wealth management and banking needs to the group;
To provide wealth management services to complex clients with the support of a team of specialist tax, pension and investment management professionals within Handelsbanken Wealth Management and the relevant branch bankers.
Provide wealth planning advice personally and acting as trusted adviser to complex clients;
Work with our own specialist investment and advice teams to create a client-team covering the range of each client's needs.
Work with external professionals where specialist advice is required outside of the scope of our in-house expertise, where existing valued relationships are to be maintained and where additional investment managers are to be appointed.
Understand the Handelsbanken investment proposition and on-going portfolio performance and risk attribution and articulating this to prospects and clients.
Establish and maintain a detailed understanding of clients investment requirements and attitude to risk and how this should be reflected in their overall asset positioning, whether managed by us or others.
Cross-referring clients where appropriate to Handelsbanken branch teams for banking and other services
Foster client relationships in an efficient, ethical and compliant manner which will lead to high levels of client satisfaction and enhance the brand and reputation of Handelsbanken in the UK.
