Job Description
3. Ownership of the UK sites to create a common system which meets the requirements of AS9100, EASA/CAA Part 21G, 21J and EASA & CAA 145 (including FAA &TCCA), in addition to customer specific requirements
4. Ability to partner with current CAA/EASA UK leadership to create appropriately resourced business units
5. Day to day line management of Special Process Manager (PDR, absentia, etc). Collaboration with VP Quality on priority setting
6. Continually Monitor and upgrade the BMS tool as Business needs demand
7. Business Process Manager for QUA supporting VP Quality as BPO
8. Support Risk Management BPM in deploying and implementing enterprise risk processes
9. Support Special Process Manager in executing RAM, BCP and Crisis Management tasks
10. Lead the relevant process owners to ensure all functional and/or local systems and procedures are fully aligned to the Group global BMS (OSR)
11. Manage all aspects of Certification/approval of the BMS by customers and 3rd party accreditation bodies
12. Manage and deploy with support from the wider business the SMS requirements for Part 21 and Part 145
13. Creation of and adoption of BMS changes that impact Safran Seats GB in relation to continued airworthiness.
14. Manage safety objectives in line with Safran BMS requirements
15. Ensure Human Factors training programmes are deployed for Certifying Staff and in support of wider business objectives
16. Develop and maintain an Audit programme covering systems and processes.
17. Capture and manage in ETQ auditor qualification requirements for all auditor types.
18. Plan and lead the audit team in conducting audits, holding the owners accountable for corrective actions and driving read-across into related processes from findings
19. Host external audits as the Quality Systems owner for Safran Seats GB
20. Create and Lead a pro-active approach to identifying improvements to the BMS and influencing and enabling the wider organization to drive improvements in their functions/business units
21. Be seen as the SGB expert for regulatory matters
22. Ensure new regulatory requirements are flowed down into the wider business and actioned accordingly
23. Apply new changes based on business risks - (identify, assess and reduce)
24. Utilize networks with local funding bodies and universities on approach to Quality 4.0
25. Lead and ensure the business provides timely information to the regulatory authorities when required either as support to the audit team or when required due to mandatory reporting etc.
26. The regulatory expert for all work transfers which have an impact on the SGB approvals or require regulatory guidance
27. Co-ordinate corrective action reports, ensuring effective and timely closure and the appropriate visibility
28. Lead teams / projects to drive corrective actions across the wider business using the understanding and knowledge of the BMS and industry / regulatory standards
29. Own and lead key transformational projects critical to the success of quality (e.g CONQUEST, CoNQ)
30. Work with process owners and business leaders to identify training needs relative to all aspects of Quality
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Regulatory Compliance should have:
31. Degree level or equivalent experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing related discipline.
32. Lean / 6 Sigma knowledge and general improvement tools
33. In-depth knowledge of Aerospace Regulations eg EASA, FAA, AS9100 etc
34. 8D analysis and report writing
35. Risk Analysis
36. Preferred AS9100 Lead Assessor, EASA Part 21/145, FAA 145 auditor
37. Experience of dealing with regulatory authorities
38. Quality and production experience
39. Competent in MS packages
40. Problem solving skills (including 8D, 5 whys)
