Backend Engineering Lead/Manager (Java) - £130,000 - £160,000 + Bonus
JNC are working with an exciting Fintech organisation that are at an important stage in their rapid growth and are looking to bring on a Backend Engineering Lead/Manager who will provide technical leadership and mentorship to 2- 3 small teams of back-end engineers.
The client is a growing B2B SaaS organisation and are looking for this hire to have the ambition to transition into a Head of/CTO type role when the time is right.
The ideal person would be someone who has extensive Java coding experience but also understands the challenges and excitement involved in a high-growth series B/C company.
Responsibilities:
* Be are the forefront of shaping the clients long-term backend architecture and standards.
* Guide the clients evolution of their microservices architecture.
* Look to constantly raise the bar in relation to best practises across your teams.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to your backend development teams.
* Mentor and help with team growth and development. Shape career paths for your engineers.
* Represent backend engineering across the business. Including stakeholder management.
Experience:
* Passion for mentoring and growing technical teams.
* Experience designing, building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
* Extensive back end development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Ideally Java 21.
* Extensive experience designing and developing microservices-based architecture.
* Experience with AWS Services.
* Kubernetes (K8s) for container orchestration
* Must have extensive experience building RESTful APIs.
