Head of Clinical Governance & Quality
Talent 4 Good are delighted to be supporting a leading private healthcare provider to recruit a Head of Clinical Governance & Quality.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is responsible for providing overall direction for quality, safety and patient experience efforts. The Head of Clinical Governance & Quality supports the Medical Director, Clinical Leadership and other stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes, patient safety and patient‑centric care. This includes oversight of the development and implementation of the integrated governance framework, quality, safety, and patient experience policies and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all quality, safety, regulatory and risk management activities.
* Implement the integrated governance framework in line with the regulatory body – CQC.
* Serve as line manager of the Governance Team.
* Ensure a safe environment for patients, families and healthcare professionals that meets regulatory and accreditation standards.
* Develop and implement, in cooperation with Nursing and Clinical Operations, patient care policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols; periodically update them as needed.
* Ensure the highest quality of professional practice in all clinical and nursing divisions and departments, meeting all safety, health and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement systems and protocols to effectively monitor clinical outcomes, safety events and patient experience measures; lead improvement efforts to enhance these measures.
* Provide leadership with in-depth knowledge of national and international trends regarding quality, patient safety and experience.
* Maintain compliance governed by UK statutory and regulatory bodies including the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Public Health England and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
* Develop and support organisation‑wide quality, safety, and patient experience strategies that improve the overall patient experience, including clinical care, physical environment and emotional needs of patients, families and employees.
* Oversee operations of patient experience data reporting.
* Other responsibilities as required according to the needs of the business, and a flexible approach to the role given the dynamic nature of the organisation as it continues to grow and develop.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Bachelor’s Degree required.
* Extensive experience in quality & governance leadership.
* Experience managing CQC inspections.
* Proven track record of achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” following a CQC inspection.
* Registered Healthcare Professional.
