ESH Advisor

Due to rapid and continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ESH Advisor to join a leading contract organisation, delivering consultancy services, engineering solutions and site operation support, to some of the UK’s leading Defence contractors.

The ESH Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations, as well as promoting a culture of safety and sustainability. Their expertise in nuclear industry-specific regulations and best practices will be essential in providing guidance and support to all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the ESH Manager in achieving company policy objectives and maintaining ISO certification.
2. Monitor and report on health and safety performance on client sites.
3. Ensure compliance with the company’s QSHEW system and related standards.
4. Collaborate during external and third-party audits, providing necessary support and information.
5. Undertake and assist in investigations of adverse events, ensuring findings are documented and addressed.
6. Maintain databases and physical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
7. Organize and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines and objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

8. Minimum NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate, working towards or certified at TechIOSH level with progression towards CertIOSH and ideally CMIOSH. Essential
9. Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction sector. Essential
10. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, CertIOSH or CMIOSH certification. Desirable
11. Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in a health and safety role, with specific experience in the nuclear industry. Desirable
12. Excellent understanding of emergency response planning and coordination.
13. Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and communicate requirements effectively
