Job Description
North East London | Full-Time | Studio-Based + Site Visits
We’re looking for a motivated Junior Lighting Designer (graduate or 0–2 years’ experience) to join our boutique lighting design studio.
This is not a back-seat role. You’ll support live projects from concept through to installation, gaining hands‑on experience across design development, documentation, visualisation, calculations, coordination, and site involvement.
You’ll work directly with senior designers on high‑end residential and commercial schemes where atmosphere, detailing, and precision matter.
What You’ll Do
* Assist in developing lighting concepts and technical layouts
* Produce drawings, specifications, and presentation materials
* Create 3D models and visuals (SketchUp + Adobe Creative Suite)
* Carry out lighting calculations (DIALux)
* Attend design meetings and site visits
* Coordinate with architects, interior designers, contractors, and clients
* Research and specify lighting products and systems
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
* Genuinely passionate about lighting design
* Technically capable and detail‑focused
* Confident using AutoCAD, SketchUp, DIALux/Relux, and Adobe
* Proactive and organised
* Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team
* Eager to learn quickly and take ownership
Revit, Rhino, or additional 3D tools are a bonus but attitude, curiosity, and design sensitivity matter more.
