About the Role: A rewarding role for an experienced Rural Surveyor eager to apply their skills within a progressive, client-focused rural team. We are seeking a personable and proactive Rural Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic and respected team. Operating across East Cheshire and the surrounding counties, you’ll play a key role in supporting a loyal client base and strengthening relationships within the rural community. This position offers remarkable variety and the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from traditional estate management to innovative property ventures. Responsibilities:
* To provide support in rural property and estate management by assisting with valuations, planning, property transactions, and offering guidance to landowners and tenants
* To manage Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) representing both developers and landowners, including land promotion work, option agreement negotiations, and commercial development opportunities
* To provide advice and guidance on Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) schemes, as well as grant and subsidy applications
* To develop and nurture trusted relationships with clients, and professional contacts, actively engaging with the local farming and rural community, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the region
* To deliver expert advice on compensation and compulsory purchase processes, including the management of client claims relating to utility providers
* To collaborate with the wider team, support former partners and assist directors in the provision of high-quality professional services
Qualifications:
* Essential: Proven industry experience as a rural surveyor or in a similar role
* Comprehensive knowledge of practical agriculture, estate management, valuations, and rural development
* Strong understanding of agricultural legislation and rural planning processes
* Excellent client relationship management skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain business relationships
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Professional manner in appearance, behaviour, and attitude
* Enthusiastic with a desire to expand your knowledge and progress your career
* Proficient in IT skills
* MRICS qualification
* Full driving licence with a willingness to travel
