Job Responsibilities:
* Ownership of site SHE plan and ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policy.
* Attend and advise the health and safety committee and other relevant committees.
* Implement and manage incident control procedures.
* Stay updated with legislation, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety, and identify necessary actions.
* Make recommendations and plans following external investigations or audits.
* Lead site/team health and safety training programs.
* Implement and manage health and safety induction programs.
* Provide first-line health and safety advice/guidance to line managers.
* Ensure proactive accident prevention, safe working practices, and health promotion.
* Maintain and review accident/incident reporting procedures.
* Communicate action plans for safety improvements and prevention.
* Manage correspondence with statutory bodies, ensuring full compliance in reporting and investigating RIDDOR accidents.
* Manage first aid facilities and support.
* Review risk assessments and implement necessary actions.
* Manage waste management and promote best practices.
* Stay informed about legislation and regulations related to waste management.
* Build effective relationships with local authorities and agencies.
* Partner with operations to reduce sickness and absenteeism through occupational health initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
* NEBOSH qualification
* Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
* Experience in Waste management
* Strong influencing and leadership skills
* Ability to build effective relationships at all levels
* Customer-focused attitude
* Effective communication skills
* Team player
* Excellent presentation skills
