Job Description
Job Purpose
We are looking for an Internal Systems Engineer to join our UK team for a 6 months Fixed Term Contract. They will work with out internal systems procure, maintain, and support all communications, network systems, software and hardware required by Gresham employees to carry out their work effectively and productively. The Internal Systems Engineer is responsible for providing exceptional technical support to Gresham’s global staff base to ensure quick response times, low levels of downtime and excellent issue resolution, the Internal Systems Engineer is also responsible for delivering project work for network, cloud and server solutions to the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Acting as part of a wider team you work with the other global Internal Systems Team members to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
* You are responsible for escalations and supporting the more complex installations, configurations, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
* You are responsible for the management and delivery of specific projects, ensuring they are delivered on budget and on schedule and are responsible for the design and installation of bespoke and off-the-shelf solutions
* You work to proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, responding to and processing support tickets raised by our global employee population and supporting the Internal Systems Technicians when required
* You assist when required with security analysis and compliance management and provide support for our AWS/Rackspace infrastructure
* You are responsible for identifying and recommending system and process improvements to enhance the Internal Systems service and working methods and practices
* You assist with the implementation of ISO27001 and help Gresham comply with it going forward
* Deploying new internal systems where directed, you are required to provide a high level of support for Linux, MacOS and Windows to our global employees
* When required, you provide systems support across our network of global offices
Key Skills
* Microsoft Windows Client/Server administration.
* Microsoft Active Directory administration.
* Mac OSX administration.
* Linux desktop/server administration, preferably Ubuntu.
* TCP/IP networking and network service management.
* Experience of using/supporting a wide range of databases (SQL/Oracle/MSSQL)
* A logical and methodical approach to problem solving/troubleshooting. Hyper-V/VMWare administration. Intermediate/Advanced AWS administration and deployment.
* Intermediate/Advanced Azure administration and deployment.
* Some Rackspace administration skills.
* Working knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems.
* Voice over IP telephony.
* Have experience in the IT services industry.
* Knowledge of Cisco Meraki hardware would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of Microsoft tooling, such as Intune/Autopilot would be an advantage
