Closeburn nursery is seeking 2 Nursery Nurses to fill vacancies. You will be required to work 36 or 7 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, hours to be discussed at interview.
Closeburn nursery caters for children aged 2-5 years old. We aim to provide an enriching, nurturing environment both indoors and outdoors to promote children's independence and curiosity.
Applicants should be educated to SCQF level 7 in Social Services, Children & Young People, HNC Childhood Practice, or equivalent. The successful candidate will adapt quickly to meet the educational and social needs of pupils in our Nursery and will play an active role in our staff team. They should demonstrate professional skills, knowledge, and understanding, and participate in curriculum development following school policies on learning and pupil assessment. Collaboration with staff, colleagues from other establishments and agencies, and regular consultation with parents and carers are essential.
Dumfries and Galloway Council's Nursery settings may operate between 8.00am and 6.00pm, with working patterns to meet service needs.

All successful applicants for early education and childcare posts will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months.
This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made.
If previously resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, candidates will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
