Description Plumpton College is seeking an experienced and compassionate Commercial Hydrotherapist to join our Veterinary Sciences and Canine Therapies provision on a bank basis. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based hydrotherapy that supports the rehabilitation, fitness and overall wellbeing of dogs. Reporting to the Director of Veterinary Sciences and Canine Therapies, you will work as part of a professional, supportive team committed to the highest standards of animal welfare, clinical practice and client care. About the role You will be responsible for assessing dogs referred for hydrotherapy, developing tailored treatment plans and delivering therapeutic sessions using underwater treadmills and hydrotherapy pools. You will monitor progress closely, adapting programmes in line with clinical need, and maintain accurate and professional clinical records. A key part of the role involves working collaboratively with dog owners and veterinary professionals, providing clear explanations, progress updates and home-management advice. You will also contribute to the wider life of the College, including CPD activity, operational support and promotional events where required. About you You will hold a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Canine Hydrotherapy and have experience working with hydrotherapy equipment such as underwater treadmills or pools. You will have a strong understanding of canine anatomy, biomechanics and common musculoskeletal conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation and long-term condition management. You will be confident in safe canine handling, committed to high welfare standards and evidence-based practice, and able to build positive, professional relationships with owners and veterinary professionals. Strong communication skills, good IT capability and a flexible, collaborative approach are essential. Working hours This is a bank post. Core working hours are typically 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, with flexibility required to meet business needs. Evening and weekend working will be required on occasion, including support for college-wide recruitment and promotional events.
