Qualified History Teacher
Location: Walsall

Pay Rate: MPS/UPS
About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Qualified History Teacher to join a secondary school in Walsall. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well structured History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
You will be joining a supportive department where high expectations, strong subject knowledge and a love of learning are at the centre of everything they do.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach across KS3 and KS4 with the possibility of KS5
* Assess, track and report on student progress
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Use a range of teaching strategies to support all learners
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policy
* Contribute to the planning and development of the History curriculum
* Support students in achieving strong academic outcomes
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school
* Take part in parents evenings staff meetings and school events as required
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Experience teaching History in UK secondary schools
* Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 History curriculum
* Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
Compliance Requirements
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
* Right to work in the UK
* Satisfactory references covering the required period
* Full safeguarding checks completed prior to placement

You are someone who is passionate about History and can bring the subject to life in the classroom. You are confident managing a classroom, committed to helping students succeed and able to adapt your teaching to meet a range of needs.
