Part Time Finance Manager (Charity) - Penzance area - £36,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting has formed an exclusive recruitment partnership with a unique charity located west of Penzance, in a beautiful setting. We are seeking a Finance Manager for a permanent, part-time role working approximately 3.5 days per week. The charity offers flexible working hours.
The successful candidate will join a friendly senior management team, managing all financial controls for a small not-for-profit organization. Working closely with the CEO, Creative Director, and trustees, this role involves broad financial responsibilities, including:
* Overseeing daily accounting operations as the finance lead
* Producing management accounts with commentary for the trustees
* Bank reconciliations
* Monitoring cash flow and income
* HMRC submissions and Gift Aid processing
* Monthly payroll, including pensions
* Preparing annual balance sheets and statutory reports in line with charity SORP and UK Charity Commission requirements
* VAT calculations and submissions
* Liaising with external auditors and stakeholders
The ideal candidate will have relevant technical experience; qualifications such as QBE, AAT, or professional certification are considered but not mandatory. Experience in charity accounting is advantageous, but candidates with strong private sector financial management skills are also encouraged to apply. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
