Senior Residential Child Care Worker – SPACE Hub
Location: Skelmersdale. Salary £32,061 - £36,363 per annum. Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week. Additional enhancements for shift work, weekend working and sleep‑in duty. Visa sponsorship not available.
About the role
As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, you’ll lead and support a team of Hub practitioners, championing care, safety and development of children with complex needs. You will implement care plans, promote education, support emotional wellbeing and play a central role in inspections, safeguarding and care planning. You will be a role model for best practice, integrity and compassion, and will lead, motivate and supervise staff during overnight duties, weekdays and weekends. The role operates on a rota basis with a mix of days, evenings, weekends and sleep‑in shifts.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support team of Hub practitioners, including overnight, weekday and weekend shifts.
* Implement and review care plans, safeguard children and promote education and emotional wellbeing.
* Coordinate inspections, safeguarding procedures and care planning.
* Champion best practice, integrity and compassion within the team.
* Ensure compliance with children’s legislation and safeguarding policy.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in children’s social care or residential settings.
* QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field.
* Confidence in leading shifts, mentoring staff and managing risk.
* Strong knowledge of children’s legislation and safeguarding practices.
