Overview
We are looking for a warehouse supervisor to oversee and manage all day-to-day operations within the warehouse and yard, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe handling of goods. The Warehouse Supervisor will ensure that all incoming and outgoing deliveries are correctly processed, stock levels are accurately maintained, and the working environment is kept to a high standard. This role requires leadership, attention to detail, strong communication, and a proactive approach to operations and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Operational Oversight
o Maintain high operational standards within the warehouse and yard areas.
o Coordinate all goods in and goods out processes in a timely and accurate manner.
o Supervise preparation of internal and external customer orders in collaboration with warehouse operatives.
o Ensure efficient transport and logistics arrangements for materials and products.
* Stock Control
o Maintain robust stock control practices to ensure accuracy, traceability, and availability.
o Oversee the labelling and identification of all stock items with correct part numbers.
o Ensure minimum and maximum stock thresholds are met through regular checks and timely replenishment.
o Lead regular stock takes and perpetual inventory checks.
* Customer & Supplier Relations
o Maintain strong, professional relationships with both customers and suppliers.
o Ensure communication and service delivery standards are upheld throughout all interactions.
* Compliance & Standards
o Enforce adherence to all relevant company policies, processes, and procedures.
o Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse and yard at all times.
o Monitor and enforce health & safety standards in line with legal and company requirements.
o Report and follow up on any defects in warehouse equipment or facilities.
* Leadership & Team Support
o Work collaboratively with the warehouse operative and other team members to ensure effective operations.
o Support training, mentoring, and development of junior staff where applicable.
o Communicate updates, changes, and requirements clearly to relevant staff and management.

Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in stock control systems and warehouse software.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to health & safety and safe working practices.
Desirable:
* Forklift license (or willingness to obtain).
* Experience in the cold storage or panel industry (preferred but not essential).
* Experience in team leadership or mentoring.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
