Job title: Materials Analyst

Location: Oxford

Contract Length: 6 months, potential to extend


Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Materials Analyst on behalf of a well known manufacturing company.


Job Role

As Materials Analyst you’ll support the source team to ensure material availability is aligned with our suppliers, customer, manufacturing, and the management. You lead contact with our supply chain and keep an appropriate communication channel to all the stakeholders. You are responsible for dedicated production areas and improve productivity through digitalisation and automation. You keep an eye on the right inventory level and run small improvement projects to make our supply chain more resilient and more efficient.


The role is responsible for:

* Manage stock levels, ensuring good availability of materials at lineside to support the production plan whilst taking costs and space into account.
* Participate in regular production meetings. Communicate any known issues and work towards sustainable solutions.
* Manage open Purchase Orders and track delivery of materials, agreeing appropriate transport methods to maintain good supply.
* Manage master data effectively, selecting appropriate methods to control stock levels (lots sizes, min/max levels, safety stocks, kanban etc)
* Maintain good supplier relationships with regular, structured vendor meetings and ad hoc communications as required.
* Drive continuous improvement within their own area of responsibility and participate in cross-functional projects as required, applying state-of-the-art digital tools.


Requirements for the role:

* Proven experience in material planning within a manufacturing environment.
* Commercial experience, including, relationship management, negotiation skills, contractual frameworks, service level agreements.
* SAP experience is an essential requirement.
* Communication skills – clear communication at all levels across the business, both internally and externally. Ability to proactively participate in open discussion and to present in a logical and structured manner.
