Position Details
You will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable), starting September 2025.
Responsibilities as a Music Teacher:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive music lessons in line with the national curriculum.
2. Develop students' skills in performance, composition, listening, and appraisal.
3. Prepare students for music qualifications such as GCSE and/or A-Level.
4. Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular music provision (e.g., choirs, ensembles, productions).
5. Encourage a love of music through whole-school events and enrichment opportunities.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues and peripatetic teachers.
7. Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress effectively.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field.
2. A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
3. Excellent subject knowledge and musicianship.
4. Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
5. Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
6. Willingness to contribute to wider school life and musical events.
7. Experience of leading ensembles or choirs is desirable.
