Senior Service Manager – Criminal Justice Services Location: Hammersmith (with travel across London) Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: 35 hours per week (hybrid working – up to 2 days from home) Lead and Transform Services for Women in the Criminal Justice System Are you an experienced, purpose-driven senior leader with a passion for women's justice and gender-responsive services? Do you want to lead strategic criminal justice programmes that support women to break the cycle of offending, reduce reoffending, and rebuild their lives? Our client, a pioneering feminist organisation supporting women impacted by the criminal justice system and gender-based violence, is seeking a Senior Service Manager – Criminal Justice Services to lead a complex portfolio of frontline projects across multiple boroughs in London. This role is pivotal in shaping trauma-informed, community-based services that empower women to thrive and recover. You’ll lead service design, delivery and innovation — while managing a team of experienced managers, practitioners and frontline staff. Key Responsibilities As Senior Service Manager, your work will span four core areas: strategic leadership, service delivery, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Strategic Service Leadership Develop, lead, and grow specialist services for women involved in the criminal justice system, including court-based interventions, resettlement support, keyworking, and community-based rehabilitation programmes. Work closely with the Head of Criminal Justice Services and Director of Services to implement organisational strategy, business planning and service expansion. Identify service gaps and opportunities for innovation based on evidence, service-user feedback, and best practice. Team and Performance Management Line-manage first-tier managers and oversee a wider team of support workers, keyworkers, and caseworkers across multiple sites. Ensure staff are supported, trained, and supervised to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care to women with complex needs (e.g. housing, mental health, substance misuse, offending). Lead recruitment, development, and retention initiatives to build a diverse, motivated team. Quality Assurance & Compliance Monitor service performance and contract delivery against KPIs, funding requirements, and regulatory standards. Embed a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding, and risk management across all service areas. Work with data and insight teams to evaluate impact and outcomes, feeding this into funding reports and service design. Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with commissioners, funders, local authorities, probation services, police, prisons, and third-sector partners. Represent the organisation at strategic forums, operational meetings, and public speaking engagements. Lead contract management, bid development, tender submissions, and funding negotiations. ✅ What You’ll Bring To succeed in this role, you’ll be an inspirational and resilient leader with: Substantial experience managing services for women in the criminal justice or violence against women and girls (VAWG) sectors. A track record of leading teams, achieving KPIs, and delivering complex, multi-site services. Deep knowledge of the criminal justice system, safeguarding standards, and trauma-informed practice. Strong organisational, budget management and reporting skills. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills. A commitment to feminist values and social justice, with the ability to drive equality, diversity and inclusion across teams and services.
