The Role
As a Housing Team Leader you will organise, lead and develop a team of frontline officers delivering critical housing and homelessness services across Sheffield. You will provide day‑to‑day leadership, ensuring high‑quality, customer‑focused services that prioritise early intervention and homelessness prevention, and maintain compliance with statutory duties and council policies.
* Lead and motivate teams in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment
* Deliver service quality, consistency and strong customer outcomes
* Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and supervision
* Take accountability for performance, addressing challenges and driving improvement
* Work collaboratively with partners across the Council and wider system
* Drive service improvement, contribute to audits, respond to customer feedback and support ongoing transformation
What We're Looking For
* Experience managing or supervising teams in a busy, customer‑facing environment
* Strong knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation, including prevention duties
* Ability to manage performance, make sound decisions and deliver high‑quality outcomes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build effective partnerships
* A strong customer focus and commitment to delivering accessible, inclusive services
* Motivation, coaching and development skills to enable staff to deliver their best
