Role Overview
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will work directly with young people and their families, providing a range of assessments and therapeutic work using the Thrive framework. The role is based in the Adolescent In‑patient Unit, which will soon house a brand‑new 8‑bed High Intensity Environment/PICU at Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individual care to service users in accordance with the integrated care programme approach.
* Carry out assessments, deliver therapeutic interventions and monitor progress.
* Participate in all activities within the unit, including food preparation and supervision of meals.
* Assist in organising external activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people.
* Develop effective liaison and communication with all disciplines, agencies, parents/carers and service users.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and support the Trust Clinical Governance programme.
* Attend a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and complete all components before commencing employment.
* Meet enhanced disclosure and DBS check requirements; the Trust will cover the cost.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Mental Health Nurse with relevant experience.
* Valid Nursing registration; NHS or equivalent.
* Current UK Healthcare worker sponsorship is required; candidates needing sponsorship are ineligible.
* Willingness to undertake training and supervision from a Clinical Team Lead.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and nights.
Shift Patterns
* Early – 07:00 to 15:00
* Late – 12:00 to 20:00
* Twilight – 16:00 to 00:00
* Nights (enhanced pay) – 19:30 to 07:30
Employment Details
* Full‑time post of 37.5 hours per week; part‑time (22.5 hours) may be discussed.
* Live in the 24‑hour service; flexible arrangements are welcomed.
* Supervision and training will be provided by a Clinical Team Lead.
