We are really excited to have been retained to appoint a Head of HR and Talent, for a high growth financial services organisation based in the City.
The primary responsibility for this role is to drive and develop the firms people strategy during a pivotal scaling phase. This is a hands‑on senior role working closely with the leadership team to strengthen organisational structure, elevate talent quality and embed a high‑performance culture.
More specifically, as a Head of HR and Talent, your key priorities will be -
* Leading the people strategy across the full employee lifecycle.
* Establishing a clear organisational baseline (structure, roles, capability gaps) and helping evolve the operating model as the business scales and ensure hiring decisions deliver ROI.
* Building a consistent, high‑quality hiring approach and partner with leaders to define roles, capabilities and objectives. Keeping abreast of employment law changes and the impact these will have.
* Implementing an effective performance framework and ensure all employees have clear, measurable objectives - supporting and challenging managers on performance, including managing underperformance and ER cases end‑to‑end.
* Managing complex employee relations cases professionally and with legal rigour.
* Maintaining visibility of organisational structure, capability gaps and workforce planning needs.
* Overseeing HR operations and employee lifecycle administration, led by the HR Assistant.
* Fostering a high‑performance, delivery‑focused culture with clear expectations and accountability.
To be considered for this role, you must be an experienced senior HR and People leader with a strong background across talent, performance, and HR operations. You must be capable of designing effective organisational structures and leading workforce planning, while confidently managing complex ER cases.
You will need a solid working knowledge of UK employment law, a commercial and analytical mindset, and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
You must also be able to operate at pace in a lean, high‑growth environment. Ideally, you will bring experience scaling businesses, implementing performance models and working in regulated environments.
