HR Assistant – HR & Recruitment Support Location: Leicester – office-based Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm BTG Recruitment is working with a growing health and social care organisation in Leicester to recruit an experienced HR Assistant to join their head office team. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable HR Assistant who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and wants to work closely with an HR Manager in a busy, people-focused environment. The successful HR Assistant will support both day-to-day HR operations and recruitment activity and will play a key role in the smooth running of the HR function. This role would suit an HR Assistant who already has practical HR administration experience and is confident dealing with people, particularly over the phone. The role – HR Assistant As the HR Assistant, you will work directly with the HR Manager and support the full employee lifecycle. The HR Assistant will be responsible for: Supporting recruitment activity, including advertising vacancies, booking interviews and preparing documentation Managing onboarding and compliance processes, including: right to work checks right to work checks DBS applications and tracking Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems Preparing HR letters, reports and general documentation Supporting investigations and disciplinary processes, including note-taking in meetings Acting as the first point of contact for HR enquiries by phone and email Providing day-to-day HR administrative support to the HR Manager About you – HR Assistant profile This is not an entry-level role. Our client is looking for an experienced HR Assistant who can confidently step into a busy environment and add value quickly. You will ideally have: Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or recruitment administration role Hands-on experience of: right to work checks DBS processing interview coordination and onboarding Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence handling telephone-based enquiries, as you will be a key first point of contact for staff A professional, friendly and approachable manner Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Experience as an HR Assistant within health and social care, healthcare or another regulated environment would be a strong advantage.
