This is a unique opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services, enabling different contractors to work as a single entity for complex installations.
The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll be involved in a significant project with national importance. You’ll support the Programme Manager in shaping and delivering key projects within the MEH Programme at Hinkley Point C.
Your daily tasks will include working closely with the business within established governance structures, building relationships with stakeholders, translating business needs into project plans, and managing multiple workstreams from inception to implementation. Your ability to foster collaboration and understand business requirements will be crucial for success.
* Coordinate and oversee project workstreams within small to medium projects, ensuring resource efficiency and timely delivery.
* Engage stakeholders, manage third-party relationships, and communicate effectively with sponsors and leadership.
* Implement project management best practices, manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and ensure quality standards are met.
* Monitor progress and financials, taking corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track, and support accurate reporting.
* Act as a business domain expert, understanding operating models, data, and processes, ensuring project dependencies and interfaces are aligned.
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working (2 days onsite, 3 days remote). The candidate can be based in either Bristol or Bridgwater, with regular travel between sites.
Essential experience
* Experience managing end-to-end delivery of small to medium IT projects, including stakeholder communication and workstream coordination.
* Ability to implement project governance, manage risks, and ensure delivery using structured methodologies.
* Strong background in budget management, financial reporting, and working with finance teams.
* Understanding of business domains and translating requirements into project plans.
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
* Ability to achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
