POST TITLE: Multi-Skills Lecturer (Construction)
LOCATION: Newbury, Berkshire
HOURS: 37 hours per week
CONTRACT: Full Time, Permanent
SALARY: £33,656 - £39,034 per annum
Job purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching across foundation and introductory construction programmes, equipping learners with a broad range of practical skills and supporting progression into specialist trades.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging teaching across entry-level and foundation construction programmes
* Plan and deliver practical sessions covering: Basic brickwork and masonry Carpentry and joinery Painting, decorating and tiling Property maintenance and repair Measurement, marking out and site preparation
* Support learners in identifying strengths and progression pathways into specific trades
* Assess learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement
* Create a safe, inclusive and well-managed workshop environment
* Contribute to curriculum development to ensure industry relevance
* Participate in team meetings, CPD and college activities
Person specification
Essential:
* Broad site experience across multiple construction trades
* Level 2 or 3 qualification in a construction trade (e.g. Bricklaying or Carpentry)
* Experience working with entry-level learners or young people
* Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable:
* Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent)
* Experience delivering in Further Education or Apprenticeships
