Overview
The Director, Technical Consulting Services will manage our Workday data, integrations, Prism, Reporting, Extend and AI initiatives across the EMEA region and link to the global Workday practice and Cognizant EPS initiatives. We are looking for a thought leader who can bridge Workday’s native AI capabilities—especially through Workday Illuminate—with broader expertise in AI and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to craft technical roadmaps for customers. This person will oversee a team of expert managers and set the strategic direction for these areas in conjunction with the Cognizant Workday Practice leaders. This individual will assist the sales team with activities such as orals, estimations, and Statements of Work (SOWs). The role works closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads, and acts as a liaison between the Consulting team and executive management. This individual will assist in identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored and adjusted appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Oversight: Oversee projects across the practice and provide guidance to engagement/project managers and team members to identify project needs, reduce risk, and develop solutions and strategies.
* Sales Support: Support the RFP response and pursuit process for technical consulting work. Resource appropriate technical experts as well as owning and fulfilling the technical role.
* Team Leadership: Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Workday applications. Promote a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment. Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure consultants adhere to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and the Cynergy Implementation Methodology. Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels. Establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; build consensus and achieve goals through influence. Build trust-based relationships and identify and foster business development opportunities.
* People Development: Mentor and coach, analyze team skills and provide cross-training to maintain staffing capabilities. Advise management on team members’ level of expertise and availability.
* Performance Management: Establish goals and objectives for direct reports during bi-annual reviews. Direct the collection of performance feedback from customers and engagement/project managers on a quarterly basis or upon project completion for the entire team. Direct the collection of internal contributions for team members to ensure HR data is received quarterly. Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Consulting team.
* Experience And Requirements: Possess 7-10 years of Workday (or other ERP) Technical Consulting implementation experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Proven experience leading a virtual team. Fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments. Ability to work well within and across teams to achieve objectives. Sales engagement experience in estimating and presenting to prospects.
