Our Construction team delivers high‑quality courses and apprenticeships across multiple trades, and we are now looking for a Carpentry Lecturer to join us. Although teaching qualifications would be beneficial, you do not need to have one – we are committed to developing and growing our lecturing team. You will deliver engaging, hands‑on training in site and or joinery‑based carpentry. At Truro College we deliver levels 1, 2, 3 and a full range of Apprenticeships, adult courses and bootcamps in these specialist skilled areas. All courses cover both practical and theory sessions in areas such as health and safety, woodworking joints, doors, windows, stairs, kitchens, roofing, first and second fix tasks. Our aim is to develop the construction workforce and train the future of the profession.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, hands‑on training in site and joinery‑based carpentry.
* Teach both practical and theory sessions across levels 1, 2, 3 and apprenticeships.
* Develop course content and assessment materials in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Support learners to achieve good outcomes and progress in the construction sector.
* Maintain, manage and give advice to students and staff on a wide range of matters, with an emphasis on learning pathways and career opportunities in construction.
* Collaborate with other teaching staff to improve delivery and value for students.

Salary as advertised is based on a qualified lecturer. Non‑qualified applicants will be considered but will be paid on a non‑qualified lecturer scale.
