Weare currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated HousekeepingManager to join our established housekeeping team at the Hospice, maintainingthe cleanliness of the whole site, including the in-patient unit. Main duties of the job
In this role you will line manage the housekeeping team, as well as carrying out housekeeping duties yourself ensuring hight standards of hygiene andcleanliness. You will manage the staff rota on iRota, including arranging coverfor holiday and sickness. You will be responsible for ensuring housekeeping supplies are ordered and ordering and control of linen.
Thesuccessful candidate will need to be a good team player with excellentcommunication skills. Flexible working is needed, including some weekends, on a7-day rolling shift pattern. Within this work pattern, we operate an early andlate shift, covering the hours from 07:00 to 19:30.
Previousexperience in a healthcare environment is desirable.

Job responsibilities
To manage the housekeeping teamand to provide domestic cleaning, general linen service and catering supportwhilst maintaining the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness at alltimes. As the supervisor of the team youwill delegate tasks to the housekeepers whilst carrying out generalhousekeeping duties yourself ensuring that standards of the organisation aremet.
You will actively engage withcolleagues, patients, patients families and carers, volunteers and visitors.

Clinical
To manage the housekeeping team to ensure anefficient and effective service is being delivered.
To source quality housekeeping items,ensuring best value is obtained, and coordinate the ordering, keeping within the agreed budget.
Maintainand manage inventory of housekeeping supplies, coordinate and orderreplenishment stocks.
To identify potential hazards and risks andreporting them to the Head of Facilities and or Nurse in Charge.
Coordinatehousekeeping training on standard operating procedures, safety policies andhealth & safety regulations including COSHH.
Understand,adhere to, and promote infection control practices and policies.
Assist,as necessary, to ensure the nutritional intake of a patient is maintained.
Beresponsible and accountable for a high standard of work for yourself and theother housekeepers.
Followguidelines for safe systems at work and maintain a safe environment forcolleagues, patients and visitors.
Participatein and contribute to service development, evaluation and changes.

Ensure all staff members are subject to anannual appraisal with performance against objectives managed throughout theyear.
General responsibilities

Additional Duties In discussion with the line manager to undertakework, as and when required, in support of St. Michaels Hospice as anorganisation.
