Public Cloud Operations Engineer - Marsh McLennan
Join our Cloud Platforms team for the Public Cloud Operations Engineer role at Marsh McLennan. Based in Liverpool or Milton Keynes, this role offers a path to management for the right candidate. Responsibilities
* Operational support for public cloud technology solutions, primarily focusing on AWS or Azure.
* Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of AWS and Azure public cloud technologies to ensure options are considered to support business initiatives.
* Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Project Managers, Developers, and Engineering teams to resolve technical obstacles and improve the product's vision.
* Work with multiple Project Management and Software Engineering teams to identify ways to improve IaaS and PaaS service offerings.
What you need to have
* Experience of Oracle.
* Public cloud operations engineering with extensive industry-specific experience.
* Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams.
* AWS or Azure public cloud experience in an operational capacity. AWS or Azure Certification is nice to have; strong experience with a willingness to complete certification will be considered.
* Hands-on experience with AWS, including core IaaS (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, ELB) and native AWS PaaS Services (Lambda, AWS Config, EMR, Athena, EKS, etc.).
* Hands-on experience with Azure public cloud, including core (compute, storage, networking) platform, PaaS and IAM offerings.
* Infrastructure experience (Server Administration, Networking, Storage, Security).
* A commitment to best practices and promoting a DevOps oriented software delivery model by reducing manual operational processes.
* Interest in developing into a team manager role in the long term.

* Prior experience implementing enterprise cloud management platforms.
* DevOps/coding skills in Python 3.x, CloudFormation, Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
* Experience with REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and PaaS technologies.
* Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications.
* Experience mentoring or managing a small team.
