About the Role
Team Manager – Leaving Care and Children Looked After Service (CLA). The role is based in Sutton (Zone 5), with excellent transport links to Central London.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective corporate parenting responsibilities for children looked after and leaving care.
* Ensure all interventions are child‑centred and prioritise the best interests of children and young people.
* Oversee the assessment, planning, and review processes for looked after children.
* Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and professional standards.
* Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement.
* Chair meetings, collaborate with multi‑agency professionals, and safeguard children and young people.
* Produce and review quality assurance reports and directly support the team’s work.
Qualifications
* Registered with Social Work England and hold a degree in Social Care or a related field.
* Extensive experience working with children within a care environment.
* Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong knowledge of delivering social work support to service users and their families.
* Excellent communication skills – able to articulate complex social issues to professionals, families, and external agencies.
* Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and related discharge processes.
* Compassionate manner and outstanding communication skills.
